5 ways to find your passion

Once I wanted to become a professional singer. One day I felt like my passion is to become a political leader (My Mom laughed when i told this to her. May be she thought about how many votes I could get ;));));)). Sometimes I think about choosing modeling as my career. And sometimes I want to become a movie director. This list goes on.

And one day I was really upset about my confusion about what my passion is. After struggling for a few days, I could find out what my real passion is. Here are some tips to find out your passion.

1. Fad can be forgotten but passion don't let you forget about it :- When you wake up in the morning, generally you forget the matters of less importance, but not the things which are more important to you. So, an interest of yours can't be just an interest, if you are thinking about it daily. It may be your passion.

2. You are ready to do anything to follow it :- For example, you want to be a singer. Think about quitting your present job to learn skills to become a singer. Are you ready to do that? Not only quitting job, but leaving home or relocating yourself comes to count. If it's your passion, you are ready to anything to do it.
3. It will come into mind at the end of the day :- Even if you are in a good job, you may feel like something is missing in your life, if you are not following your passion. At the end of the day, when you are going to sleep, almost everything related to your life comes into mind. Then you have a chance to find what you are missing and eventually what your passion is.
4. Imagine yourself after 10 years :- Do you want to remain in the same job? Are you satisfied? Imagine yourself as 40 years old.... 50 years old.... 60 years old.... Is it OK to you to be in the present job?
5. Spend some time alone and analyse your interests :- Think about your interests, hobbies and your long term dreams. You will get an answer.

Wanna have a Facebook-free Life?

I used to waste a lot of time on Facebook. Sometimes, I couldn't reach deadlines in my studies as I was addicted to Facebook. I tried to limit the time of using on Facebook  But It didn't work out. If Time is lost, everything is lost. So, finally I decided to delete my Facebook profile. It worked. It worked like magic. Now, I got my 'Life' back. If you have the same problem, some tips are here for you.

Have contact details of your Facebook friends :- After joining in Facebook  we don't care about phone numbers of our friends (except close friends). If you delete it without taking their contact details, you may feel like you miss many friends.  So, Take their mobile numbers or postal addresses and be ready to tell good bye to Facebook.

Don't post status on Facebook about deleting your profile :- If you post a status like 'Good bye Facebook' , your friends will definitely comment as you should not. They will tell the cons of quitting Facebook and for sure they will say that they will miss you. And your heart melts. Then you will give up the decision. So, to avoid this, first delete your profile and send a message through mobile or mail that you quit Facebook. And don't discuss about it.

Make your mind busy for 14 days :- Facebook will reactivate your account if you log in into your account within 14 days after deletion. Go to a trip with friends for two weeks (You may feel that this is too much, Even I too ;)). But, seriously don't get into that trap again. Keep yourself busy. And I promise you that you will definitely feel good.

It' been more than 6 months since I deleted my Facebook profile. Still, I don't feel the need to re-open my Facebook account. In fact I'm so happy for getting a lot of time for my hobbies.

Too much empathy

On one routine day, I was in my office. We (staff) came to know that one of my colleagues has some serious personal problem. And after sometime all of our colleagues fell into work expect me. I couldn't concentrate on my work. In the evening, my senior colleague asked me,
"What happened? why are you sad?"
"Ma'am... How pathetic situation it is...!"
"Do you still think about it?"
"It's not getting out of my mind ma'am."
"Can you help her in anyway?"
"Of-course I can't ma'am. Nobody can. right..?"
"Then, there is no point of worrying this much. Isn't it?"
"Yeah. But..."
"Dear... Everybody have their own problems. You too. Aren't you? Don't get effected by other's problems too."
"Yeah. You are right ma'am."
"If you can solve the problem of someone, go and help them. Otherwise just stop thinking about it and deal with your own Life. Life is too short to be too empathetic."

     Yeah... She is right.

Why do we need continuous motivation?

You'll get the answer by one question, "Why do we need to fuel our vehicle?". Life is just like a vehicle. If we don't stop for fuel, it'll struck somewhere and anyways we have fuel it.

A few days before, on one hectic day, everything seemed to be problematic for me. At one point, I wanted to quit my job. I was fully irritated. I never felt like that before. After office hours, I decided to walk to my home instead of taking city bus, so that I can spend some time alone and I can think about what is happening in my life.

The challenges in my office were not new to me. I've faced much bigger challenges before. But I never felt like this. But what happened now...? Thought about it for almost half an hour. I got the difference. The only reason is My way of looking at things has changed. Because of busy life, meditation, books, self help articles and my hobbies got disappeared one by one slowly from my lifestyle. I fell into the 'routine busy life'. I forgot to recharge my mind.

Felt somewhat relief. Saw my favorite bookshop. It's been so many days since I bought a good book. One book caught my eye which was written by one of my favorite authors, Robin Sharma. Bought that book. The title is superb, 'The leader who had no title.' I read a random page. Felt awesome. Went home happily having a confident feeling that "My days are back". :)

Here are some tips, which will help you being in track with 'Life' in your days.

  • Have one good self-help book with you. It's the best thing which keeps you motivated.
  • Write your favorite quote on the wall beside your bed.
  • Spend alone for at least 15 minutes a day.
  • Have some inspirational songs in  your mobile. Whenever you feel down, you can cheer yourself up with those songs.
  • If possible, read one good self-help article everyday.
  • Set your desktop wallpaper which reminds you of your goal.
  • Help someone.
  • Give a smile to a stranger.
  • Be crazy.
  • Enjoy fully as much as you want to. If you can make yourself happy, you can do anything. :)

Finally.... I got it

Having focus on too many things is meaningless... right? I understood that recently. I  wanted to so many things... just so many. But couldn't do any single thing perfectly. :( Finally I understood my problem. So, I got the solution. :) If we understood our problem, half the job done... right?  :)
I must cut down the things I wanna do according to priority. So that I can focus on them well. :)
